Digital kaizen for your organization’s knowledge

The people who do the work write the wiki. Humans approve every change. Your AI never guesses.

WikiKaizen is a governed knowledge base: your team writes down the practices that guide their daily work, every change passes a human checklist before it goes live, and the approved wiki grounds your AI assistant’s answers — retrieval-augmented answers without the engineering project, running on your own AI account. Anyone new to the team or the job gets a clear, concise starting point from day one, and the review loop keeps everyone improving without drifting from your core foundations. Made by the people at the work

Creators propose what actually guides their day — not what a disconnected org chart thinks it should be.

Approved before it's live

Every change waits for a human sign-off. Your knowledge base can't drift from your values.

An open standard, not a silo

Every page is an Open Knowledge Format document. Export your whole wiki as a standard bundle any AI system can use — you're never locked in.

What is kaizen?

Quality control as a loop, not a gate

Kaizen (改善, “change for the better”) is the practice of continuous improvement by the people closest to the work. WikiKaizen makes that loop digital: practitioners propose what actually guides their day, a human approves it against a checklist, the approved wiki powers the tools — and every page carries a review date, so improvement never stops.

propose→approve→use→improve↻

Deliberately not top-down. The permission model enforces the philosophy: the wiki is written by the people who use it, never handed down by an org chart that has drifted from the process.

Kaizen has seventy years of receipts

It is not a buzzword — it is one of the most studied management practices of the last century, and its core discovery is the one WikiKaizen is built on: lasting quality comes from small, continuous improvements made by the people closest to the work — not from top-down overhauls.

1950s

Postwar Japan. American quality pioneers — W. Edwards Deming above all — teach Japanese industry that quality is everyone's job, improved in small repeating cycles rather than inspected in at the end.

1960s–70s

Toyota makes it a system. The Toyota Production System turns kaizen into daily practice: any worker can stop the line, every worker proposes improvements, and gemba — "the actual place" — becomes the rule: understand work where the work happens.

1986

Kaizen goes global. Masaaki Imai's Kaizen: The Key to Japan's Competitive Success introduces the practice to Western management; it becomes the foundation of what the world now calls lean.

Today

Everywhere but knowledge. Kaizen runs factories, hospitals, agile software teams, and school-improvement cycles. WikiKaizen applies the same discipline to the newest place quality drifts: the knowledge that feeds your AI.

Every page is an Open Knowledge Format document

WikiKaizen stores knowledge in the Open Knowledge Format — the open-source standard Google Cloud published for exactly this purpose: organizational knowledge that both humans and AI systems can read. A page is plain markdown with its governance carried in the metadata:

---
title: Onboarding a new business partner
owner: WBL Coordinator
status: approved
review_by: 2027-01-15
---
## The practice
1. Confirm the partnership agreement is on file…

One click exports the entire approved wiki as a standard OKF bundle — readable in a text editor, usable by any OKF-aware AI system. Your knowledge is never locked in.

Four roles, enforced in the database

RoleWhat they do
ViewerReads the wiki and uses the tools built on it
CreatorProposes new pages and improvements — nothing goes live without approval
AdminApproves or returns every change, with notes
OwnerGoverns roles, plans, and the wiki's AI account

Approval is not a UI convention — it is enforced at the database layer, so unapproved content cannot reach viewers or the AI by any path.
